Ministry of Women and Children Affairs renamed in Bangla

The government has officially renamed the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs in Bangla to "Nari O Shishu Bisoyok Mantronalaya" (নারী ও শিশুবিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়) following a cabinet decision.

A gazette notification was recently issued to give effect to the change, confirming that while the Bangla title has been updated from "Mohila O Shishu Bisoyok Mantronalaya", its English name—Ministry of Women and Children Affairs—remains unchanged.

The Cabinet approved the proposal to alter the Bangla name of the ministry on October 18.

Historically, the ministry was established as the "Ministry of Women Affairs" on November 9, 1989. It was later renamed the "Ministry of Women and Children Affairs" on May 5, 1994.
