Electricity supply in parts of Dhaka and Chattogram was disrupted for nearly an hour today after a technical fault in the national grid, affecting the Bangladesh Secretariat and several surrounding areas.
The outage lasted from 12:43pm to 1:40pm, Md Nahid Hasan, public relations officer of the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), told media.
The disruption affected Bhulta, Haripur, Siddhirganj, Gulshan, Rampura, Motijheel, the Bangladesh Secretariat and adjoining areas, as well as parts of Chattogram.
Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Chairman Rezaul Karim said a trip on the Meghnaghat-Haripur national grid line had triggered the disruption.
“Our experts were engaged immediately after the technical fault was detected to restore the system,” he told journalists.
