Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Tuesday (November 4) that Tehran will not submit to coercion or allow foreign powers to dictate terms, affirming that the nation will firmly defend its rights within the framework of international law.
Pezeshkian made the remarks in Tehran during separate diplomatic ceremonies while accepting credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors of Portugal, Switzerland, Türkiye, and Nigeria.
Receiving Portuguese Ambassador Waltier Matias, Pezeshkian rejected Western media depictions of Iran, asserting that mainstream coverage fails to reflect the reality of the nation.
He condemned state terrorism and military strikes targeting scientists, school children, and political leaders across the region by the United States and Israel, criticizing Western powers for supporting such actions under the guise of fighting terrorism.
"We will not yield to force, and we will defend our rights within the framework of international laws and regulations. No country can impose any demands on the Iranian nation outside this framework," Pezeshkian stated, adding that global relationships grounded in justice and mutual rights are essential to preventing armed conflicts.
In his meeting with Swiss Ambassador Georg Steiner, the president commended Switzerland’s stance on humanitarian affairs and global peace, urging the diplomat to present an accurate portrayal of Iran’s society and rich cultural heritage to counter false external propaganda.
Welcoming Turkish Ambassador Ahmed Aydin Dogan, Pezeshkian highlighted the historic and brotherly ties between Iran and Türkiye, while warning that Israeli aggression seeks to create divisions across the Islamic world with backing from the US and select European nations.
Referring to recent military aggressions and ongoing economic sanctions targeting Iran, Pezeshkian noted that external pressure would fail to break the resolve of the Iranian people, reiterating his call for regional security cooperation and unity among Muslim nations to counter external threats.
Meeting Nigerian Ambassador Hamza Mohammad Slao, Pezeshkian expressed Tehran's readiness to expand bilateral cooperation across all sectors with Abuja, calling on nations seeking regional stability to adopt constructive approaches toward sovereign states.
