4 killed in Mirpur road mishap

Four people including two women were killed when a university bus collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw at Mirpur Beribadh in the capital on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around 7:38am in Nawaberbagh area of Diabari under Shah Ali Police Station (PS). The auto-rickshaw was badly mangled in the collision.

According to Fire Service and police, a speeding bus of Asian University of Bangladesh collided head-on with the battery-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, killing all the four passengers of the auto-rickshaw on the spot.

A unit of Kalyanpur Fire Station rushed to the scene following the accident and began rescue operations. Fire Service recovered the bodies and handed them over to police.

Fire Service media officer Talha Bin Jasim confirmed the fatality. No one else was injured in the accident.
