Actress Pori Moni has secured bail in a case filed over allegations of assault, vandalism and intimidation. The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Dhaka granted her bail on Thursday (November 5).
On Wednesday, the court cancelled her bail and issued an arrest warrant after she failed to appear for a scheduled hearing.
Her lawyer sought an adjournment, citing her illness due to allergies. However, the court issued the warrant after hearing both sides.
Pori Moni appeared at the court premises on Thursday morning with around 10 personal security personnel.
The case was filed in 2021 by businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud, the then president of Boat Club, against Pori Moni and two others over an alleged altercation at the club in Savar.
In 2024, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) found evidence against Pori Moni and another accused, costume designer Zunaid Bogdadi Jim.
