Winter is gradually setting in across the northern district of Panchagarh, with morning fog, cool breezes, and heavy humidity increasing the chill factor as temperatures continue to fall.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 16.5 degrees Celsius at 9:00 AM on Sunday (November 8) at the Tetulia Meteorological Observatory. At the same time, the relative humidity in the air was logged at 100 per cent.

On Saturday morning, the minimum temperature stood at 17.2 degrees Celsius, meaning the mercury dropped by 0.7 degrees Celsius within a span of twenty-four hours.

Although the sun breaks through as morning progresses, bringing some warmth, the biting cold returns promptly during dawn and evening hours. Working-class people are already compelled to brave the chilly morning winds to begin their daily livelihoods.

According to weather office data, the maximum daytime temperature in Panchagarh reached 31.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday. While strong sunshine persists during peak daylight hours, the distinct contrast brings a palpable winter feel early in the day and after sundown.

Jitendranath Roy, acting officer of the Tetulia Meteorological Observatory, stated that temperatures are decreasing progressively. He noted that the chill is more pronounced during the night and early morning, and temperatures are likely to drop further in the coming days, intensifying the winter conditions.
