Pori Moni served legal notice over harassment of journo, nat’l anthem insult

A legal notice has been served on actress Porimoni, also known as Shamsunnahar Smrity, demanding an unconditional apology over allegations of harassing journalists and insulting the national anthem.

Supreme Court lawyer Hasan Shahriar issued the notice on Sunday (November 8), with copies sent to the president and general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association.

The notice asked Porimoni to apologise in writing within seven days for an incident at a Dhaka court on November 5. It also urged her to refrain from obscene language, threats and indecent acts in films, videos or other media.

The association’s president and general secretary were asked to issue her a show-cause notice and take disciplinary action within seven days. Otherwise, legal action would follow, the notice warned.
