BSF kills Bangladeshi youth in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, Dec 30: A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by the members of Border Security Force (BSF) of India along Daikhawa border at Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shafikul Islam, 22, a cattle trader and son of Jainal Abedin hailing from Amjhol village of the upazila.
BSF members of 100-Paglibari camp opened fire on a group of cattle traders when they went to bring cows through the border around 4am, leaving Shafikul dead on the spot, Lt Col Golam Morshed, director of BGB Battalion Lalmonirhat-15.
The BSF members took away the body, said Gotamari Union Parishad Chairman Abul Kashem Sabu.
BGB sent a letter to BSF to return the body.
