Law Minister Anisul Huq on Tuesday said former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, who has sought political asylum in the USA, would be brought back to the country through court.
"As a case was lodged against him, it is now the Anti-Corruption Commission's responsibility to decide about bringing him back. They will look into the matter. If he needs to be brought back, it would be done through court," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after launching the legal aid office management software and BD Legal Aid App.
The software launching programme was organised at Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) auditorium in Dhaka.
Law and Justice Secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Md Zahirul Haque chaired the function while JATI Director General Justice Khandaker Musa Khaled, Law and Justice Division Joint Secretary Bikash Kumar Saha and National Legal Aid Services Organization Director Md Zafrul Hasan also spoke.
Law Commission Chairman Justice ABM Khairul Haque and Member Justice ATM Fazle Kabir were also present on the occasion.
In the programme, the Minister also distributed laptops and mobile phones among the legal assistance providing officers working in different districts.
