Ruling party Awami League (AL) on Saturday said they will accept gracefully the result of today's 11th parliamentary election.
"We will accept the outcome of the election whatever it is," the party's Joint Secretary Abdur Rahman while briefing the journalists at the party's political office in Dhanmondi in the capital.
He said as party the AL expected countrymen will cast their votes for boat and elect Sheikh Hasina as the prime minister for the fourth term.
"But even if they don't vote for us, we will accept the outcome," he added
Abdur Rahman urged the party leaders and activists to stay until the polls result are declared.
The AL Joint Secretary said that several international media outlets including New York Times and Hindustan Times have published surveys that show that people will once more vote for Sheikh Hasina.
Rahman said that Jamaat-BNP-Oikya Front have failed to carry out their polls campaign because they are "politically bankrupt."
Claiming that BNP activists have turned their faces on the Khaleda Zia-Tarique Rahman leadership, Rahman said that they have resorted to violence and spreading rumours in the absence of leadership.
He called on his own party leaders to remain vigilant till the very end of the polls and ensure that the voters do go the polling centres and make sure that they do not fall prey to any negative publicity.
Rahman claimed that the atmosphere regarding the upcoming polls was the most stable and violence free in the history of Bangladesh's election history.
"We have witnessed the most free, fair and peaceful polls atmosphere compared to the other elections," he said, adding that the December 30 polls will decide whether the dreams of the martyrs will be materialised or whether ant-liberation forces will once more rule the country.
