
Five Nepali students have left the campus suddenly while studying at Rajshahi University (RU). They left the campus on January 9 without informing the warden of Shaheed Mir Abdul Quayyum International Dormitory.
Dormitory warden professor Ashadul Islam has given a written complaint to the university proctor on Monday about the matter.
The students are identified as 1st year student of Veterinary and Animal Science Department, Ujjal Mahato, Susan Parajuli, Milon Kumar Moktar, Binod Lamychane and Lila Jung Raya Majhi of Computer Science & Engineering Department. All of them are students of 2017-18 academic year.
University Proctor Prof Lutfar Rahman said, "They went out suddenly from campus without any permission, without telling the warden. Later, the warden wrote to me about this. Then they came to know that they could not adjust here so they went away."
Nepali students Anand Kumar Saha said that they will not study at Rajshahi University. He has confirmed that the students who left the campus have reached Nepal.
The chairman of Veterinary and Animal Science Department Dr. SM Kamruzzaman said, "The Nepali students were irregular from the beginning. They could not face the competition with other students of this department."
Dormitory Warden professor Asadul Islam said, "They left from dormitory without informing officially. They told their classmates, they will not study here.”
A.H.M. Aslam Hossain, deputy registrar of university's academic branch, said, "They did not inform in written that they would not study here. Apart from this, department has not been informed. We would take necessary measures, if they gave written. If they come back again then they can continue to study.
