Shafin Ahmed, Jatiya Party's mayoral candidate for by-polls in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), on Thursday said that voters have turned away because of irregularities in some previous elections including the parliamentary one.
Mentioning that voter turnout is significantly low, he said, "Low turnout means people have least trust."
Shafin came up with the comment after casting his vote at Manarat International School.
"Voters' presence is remarkbly low. There is nothing to be optimistic or frustrating on winning the polls. I've cast my vote at about 12:30pm, but, did not see any irregularities in this centre," he added.
