Sadia Khalid Reeti juror for Cannes FIPRESCI Award

Sadia Khalid Reeti has become the second film activist from Bangladesh to serve as a juror for the FIPRESCI Award. FIPRESCI, the apex body of film critics from all over the world each year awards two films during the Cannes Film Festival. One film is selected directly from the competitive section of Cannes and another from a critics' week that runs parallel with Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France. Sadia Khalid Reeti will be judging films in the 72nd edition of Cannes Film Festival starting from May 14. Previously Ahmed Muztaba Zamal, director of Dhaka International Film Festival, served as a juror for FIPRESCI Award during the festival. Apart from Sadia two critics from FIPRESCI France will be judging the films. One critic from each of FIPRESCI sections in Portugal, Denmark, Norway, USA, Belgium and Israel would also comprise the jury board. Sadia has already expressed her joy at getting the chance to represent Bangladesh and also women filmmakers in Cannes.
Sadia Khalid Reeti is currently studying at School of Theatre, Film and Television under University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA. She joined FIPRESCI in 2016. She has also worked for Daily Bruin, the only five-day campus outlet from UCLA and AMBI Media Group published from Beverly Hills, USA.
