This is the beginning of Tigers majestic journey!

Tigers made a new history on May 17 beating West Indies by five wickets in the final of Walton tri-nation ODI series 2019. This is the first ever trophy they won taking part in a multi-national tournament. Bangladesh gained ODI status in 1997 though they played their first 50-over international match against Pakistan in Asia Cup1986 and won first ODI match in the following year beating Kenya by six wickets.
But it was the story of crawling period of Tigers cricket. They are now being considered as one of the mighty sides, especially in one-day cricket.
Bangladesh won first international trophy in 2005 and it was the beginning. They beat Zimbabwe in the five-match ODI series by 3-2 being defeated in first two. They won 24 bilateral series so far and few of them are against superpowers like India, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies.
However, Bangladesh are going for the World's largest cricketing face-off this year with a massive victory. They are the most balanced and are the most experienced side in the World Cup 2019 that is going to commence on May 30.
Bangladesh started their dream journey in 1999 from England. They beat runner-up of that World Cup Pakistan alongside Scotland. They feat all the World Cup from then and their recent achievements are enchanting. Tigers played the Super-8 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 and quarter-final of the Australia World Cup in 2015. They also played the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England. So, Tigers have great success stories in England and they can hope for the road to the Lords' battle on July 14.
Whatsoever, Windian opener Shai hope scored 470 runs from the five matches of the just-late tri-nation tournament and Soumya Sarkar was the lone man among Tigers to spot on top five run getters' list with 193 runs. The stat might be questioned Bangladesh batting capacity. But Tigers dominated throughout the tournament and played as a team rather than displaying one or two-man show.
So, did their bowlers. Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman claimed the third and fourth positions in the top wicket takers list of the series by consent of six dismissals each. Shannon Gabriel is the highest wicket taker claiming eight.
Bangladesh took the Ireland tri-series as the platform of experiments and now have been facing some sweet dilemma in setting their World Cup troop. All the experiments proved BCB selectors are right after all! Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das were picked as the opening partner of Tamim Iqbal despite Imrul Kayes's brilliance in recent past. Soumya hit three fifties in his three appearances. Liton also played 70 plus innings in his solitary match.
Mosaddek Hossain's inclusion was also questioned by many. But Mosaddek replied his haters with the bat. He was included in playing eleven in the final of the tournament in place of Shakib Al Hasan since Shakib sustained injury in the dead-rubber clash against Ireland on May 15. Mosaddek played the winning knock of 52 runs from 24 deliveries and became the owner of the record of the fastest ODI fifty for Tigers. He took 20 balls to complete his half-century.
Another name of puzzle is Abu Jayed Rahi, who has been incorporated in the 15-man World Cup squad as the fifth pacer. Recently Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin intimated media that Taskin Ahmed possibly will reclaim the spot in the final 15 and Rahi will accompany Tigers as the 16th man. BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon conversely, showed his unwillingness to drop Rahi without providing him any chance to prove himself. Rahi proved his efficiency. He claimed fifer in his second ODI.
This is the regal penetration of Tigers in the World Cup stage bar the Mustafiz's Yips. The cutter master is yet to regain his fiery form.
