Mash takes responsibility of failure

Bangladesh national cricket team returned home on Sunday after a two-month long European trip playing Ireland tri-series followed by ICC cricket World Cup 2019.
Eleven cricketers led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza reached the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:20pm (BST). They departed Heathrow airport at 3:30pm (BST) on Saturday and had stopover at Dubai, mid-way to Dhaka. Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Miraz, Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman didn't join the team. They remain in England to enjoy their leisure. Shakib will travel across Europe with his family.  
Earlier, Tigers left Dhaka on June 1 for Dublin and received Irish hospitality to play a tri-angular ODI series accompanying West Indies. They came out as the unbeaten champions of the tournament and it was the first ever trophy in a multi-nation cricket tournament for Bangladesh in their cricket history.
Bangladesh continued their ascendancy till their World Cup starter and beat South Africa by 21 runs on June 2. They lost next two matches against New Zealand and England on June 2 and 8 respectively. Tigers had to share point with Sri Lanka remaining clearly ahead on June 11. Shakib and his mates crushed West Indies by seven wickets on June 17 before conceding 48 runs defeat against Australia chasing the run pile of 381.
Mashrafe and co. bang Afghanistan by 62 runs on  June 24 to keep semi-final hopes alive but losing a close match to India by 28 runs on July 2 ensured Tigers exit from the World Cup. The adieu match against Pakistan on July 5 was the most frustrating for Tigers fans since they succumbed to Pakistan by 94 runs in that clash. Bangladesh however, ended the World Cup remaining eighth among ten teams bagging seven points with three wins. South Africa also poise seven points but are ahead of Bangladesh for their better run rate.
Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe admitted the liability of failure as the team failed to display the optimum sporting excellence. "As a captain, when I fail to take the team at the expected height, I need to accept the criticism. I must need to take the entire responsibility. It's natural. Anyone in my place also will need to accept things usually," he said while talking to media at the airport.
"I am of course taking the whole responsibilities (of failure). We are being criticised and it will happen. It happens around the world, in every country and after every tournament. It's very natural in case of World Cup," Mash added.  
"Still if something went in our favour, our team could stay in some other places," he hoped.
Bangladesh players will get a brief rest before commencing the national camp ahead of the Sri Lanka series. They will fly to Lankan Islands to take part in a three-match bilateral ODI series against hosts. The clashes are scheduled to take place on July 25, 27 and 29 respectively although BCB didn't confirm the itinerary officially yet.
