Man to die for killing wife

A court in Rajshahi awarded a man death sentence for killing his wife in 2016.

The condemned convict is Aynal Haque, 30, a resident of Bholabari village in Paba upazila.

The court also fined him Tk 50,000.

According to the prosecution, Aynal stabbed his wife Sufia Khatun to death in their house on April 16, 2016. Later, the victim’s father Joynal had lodged a case with Shah Makhdum Police Station over the murder.

After examining the records and 20 witnesses, Metropolitan Sessions Judge HM Elias Hossain handed down the verdict.
