An angry mob beat up three people suspecting them child lifters at Binodpur of Rajshahi city on Sunday afternoon, leaving them critically injured.
The injured people are Dewan Bashar, 45, Eusuf Ali, 38, and the private car driver Shamim Reza, 19. They all are the staff of Ideal Agro Food Products (pvt.) Lt.
The men were feeding the children chips to promote their company. Recent propaganda made the people suspicious and they asked the men to show their identity cards.
Later, locals beat up the men out of anger as they failed to show.
Angry locals also vandalised their microbus.
On information, police rushed to the scene and brought the injured men to the police station, Motihar Police Station officer in-charge Shahadat Hossain Khan said.
