Tamim's debut as captain in Malinga's farewell match

Bangladesh and Sri Lankan are going to play the maiden post-World Cup 2019 ODI match today. The clash already created stir in cricket arena since homside's champion cricketer Lasith Malinga's majestic journey of 50-over cricket going to an end today.
The city of Colombo got a vivid look on the retirement of the golden haired Malinga. All the tickets of the match were sold out since countrymen are unwilling to miss the farewell match of the curly-haired speed star.
Malinga, 36, is the third highest wicket-taker in ODI cricket for Sri Lanka with 335 scalps from 219 innings. Muttiah Muralidaran is the leading ODI wicket taker having 523 preys while Chaminda Vaas is the second highest Sri Lankan wicket taker with 399 hunts.
The Yorker specialist got both ODI and Test caps of Sri Lanka in 2004 and has 533 international wickets across the formats. He took retirement from white-ball cricket in 2010 but still interested to carry on bowling in Twenty20 cricket.  
Today's match is special for another reason as well. Tamim Iqbal is going to make his debut as captain of Bangladesh. The dashing opener however, is not at all wary of his maiden match as captain. "I am not thinking that I going to make debut as captain," he said to journalists on pre-match press conference on Thursday.
"Captaincy like jobs becomes enjoyable when team has done well. When the whole team plays well then all those things, the captain is very well," he added.
Tamim got the interim role to lead Tigers during Sri Lanka tour after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's sudden injury. He is the 14th ODI captain of Bangladesh. Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Akram Khan, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Aminul Islam Bulbul, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Khaled Masud Pilot, Khaled Mahmud Sujon, Habibul Bashar Sumon, Rajin Saleh, Mohammad Ashraful, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim were the previous 13 Bangladesh skippers in 50-over game.
