Child drowns in pond

A child drowned in a pond in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Thursday morning.

Deceased Shakila Khatun, 10, was the daughter of Yahya, a resident of Pobahar village in the upazila.

Godagari Model Police Station officer-in-charge Jahangir Alam said Shakila drowned while taking bath in a pond around 9.00am.

Later, family members recovered the body from the pond.
