Woman held with drugs in Rajshahi

Police arrested a woman along with drugs in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi on Friday night.

Arrested Firoza Begum, 25, is the wife of Russell Ahmed Firoz, a suspected drug trader, a resident of Arani Bazar area in the upazila.

On information, a team of law enforcers conducted a drive in Russel's house to detain him but sensing presence of police, he managed to flee the scene, said additional superintendent of Rajshahi police Iftekhar Alam.

Later, police detained Russel's wife Firoza.

Police also recovered 12 bullets and 100 pieces of Yaba tablets from the house.

Two cases were filed with Bagha Police Station under the Arms Act and the Narcotics Control Act, the official added.
