Huge arsenal of GK Shamim, Khaled remains untouched

At least 100 sophisticated foreign-made illegal firearms and 5,000 rounds of bullet allegedly used in extortion and tender manipulation by Golam Kibria Shamim and Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan still remain untouched.
GK Shamim and Khaled Mahmud, known to be influential government contractors, are now in police custody in connection with Arms Act and Narcotic Control Act cases.   
The lists of arms include four AK 47, eight shotguns and different types of foreign-made small arms like pistols and revolvers, intelligence sources say.
The huge illegal arms of Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan and GK Shamim were allegedly used to manipulate tender biddings," intelligence agency told the Daily Observer on Tuesday.
They identified several armed cadres of Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan. Khaled is the proud owner of at least 70 sophisticated foreign-made illegal arms and 3,500 rounds of bullet.
The armed cadres of Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, according to sleuths, are identified as Kislu,     former Jubo Dal member turned Jubo League leader and his chief adviser, Ankur, former Chhatra League president now vice president of Jubo League from Shahjahanpur, Royis, an accused of a murder case, from Rampura, Shadat Hossain Sadu from Khilgoan, Kabir, president of Ward No 11 Jubo League, Palti Ripon from Shahjahanpur, Selim, vice president of Ward No 8 Jubo League, Rivi,  general secretary of Ward NO 11 Jubo League, Rony from Rampura, Sajib from Mogbazar, Aminul Islam Raju, president of Shahjahanpur thana Chhatra League, Babu, joint secretary of Ward No 11 Jubo League, Kazi, president of Paltan  Chhatra League, Mahabul Haq Hirak and Aminul from AGB colony and  accused of  Jubo League leader Milky murder case, Uzzal from Shahjahanpur, Mota Rubel Masud, Majharul Islam Tuhin,  Mizan from Motijheel, Khairul, joint convener of Chhatra League, Zahadul Islam Tipu and Alaudin Liton of Chhatra League.
Masud and Hasan, two brothers of Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, used to control Railway Bhaban tenders, intelligence agency said.
Intelligence agencies also identified several close associates of Jubo League leader GK Shamim who acted as his armed cadre. At least 30 sophisticate foreign-made illegal firearms and 1,500 rounds of bullet were in GK Shamim's arsenal.
Ronok was the right hand man of GK Shamim. Didar, Milon, driver of top terror Kala Jahangir, Fahim Rony, Chhatra League leader, Milton, Aminul Islam alias Dish Babu from AGB colony, Sazal and  Mohammad Hossain, Chhatra League leaders were his cadres.
GK Shamim posted Mohammad Hossain as his chief informer at Public Works Department (PWD). Mohammad Hossain used to collect all information from PWD and delivered it to GK Shamim.
Investigators are trying to find out other people who were close to Jubo League leader Khaled and GK Shamim.
A senior official of the investigation agency told this correspondent on Sunday that during interrogation, Khaled and Shamim confessed that several of their armed cadres were engaged in extortion and tender manipulation  in several government organization including PWD, Railways, Food, BIWTA and other organizations.
Khalid also used his torture cell at Kamalapur in the city to chastise his business opponents, intelligence sources said.
 RAB raided Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan's Eastern Kamalapur office and recovered two electronic machines which were used for torturing cell inmates.
