Hundreds of people in Rajshahi have been marooned in the flood caused by heavy rainfall for last few days and the onrush of water from the upstream.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md Enamul Haque said three upazilas of Rajshahi--Paba, Godagari and Bagha-- have been inundated, leaving hundreds of people marooned.

About 904 packets of dry food and 43 metric tonnes of rice have been distributed among the marooned people in the areas, he added. 
 
Moreover, the Padma River was flowing 40 centimeters below the danger level at Charghat point on Tuesday morning, said Enamul Haque, an official of Rajshahi Water Development Board (WDB).
