Police detained two people along with arms and drugs in Chandrima Police Station area of Rajshahi city on Thursday night.
The detained ate Azhar Uddin, 27, of Harian Purbopara village in Paba upazila and Momin, 32, of Choto Bongram area in the city.
A team of detective branch (DB) police signaled a private car, on which Azhar and Momin were riding, to stop in Naderhajir intersection area around 11:30 pm. But, the private car tried to escape the place.
Chasing the private car, the DB team nabbed the duo and recovered two firearms, nine bullets, 200 grams of heroine and 200 bottles of phensidyl from their possessions, said Abu Ahmed Al Mamun, deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
