You hear much talk about trips they're planning on taking. Whether it is a great distance or just an hour away, travel is so important for your own character development. Not to mention that you get to experience new things with every place you have never been before. Travelling is the best way to get out of your comfort zone and invites you to experience life in different ways.
Travelling is something really unique, and there are only so many things we can learn in a school environment. Travel really can't be taught; you can learn about other cultures, but you can't be fully taught unless experience it. Scientifically, it is shown that travelling also gains you more confidence and a great way to develop cultural sensitivity. Not to mention if you travel abroad, you can most likely be submerged into a second or third language.
To me, travelling is something that absolutely blows my mind. Seeing something that you have never seen before, being places that people live every day and forget the beauty of their home and become absolutely in awe of the surroundings, and knowing that sometimes places are so different from where you're familiar.
I actually had the pleasure of visiting Darjeeling, West Bengal of India for few days. Let me tell you that was the moment I knew I wanted to see the world. It was such an experience being with elder brothers and friends, and seeing all these new things that I knew I may never get to see again. It's so important to take in every moment in when you're travelling. Even if it is a location easily accessible to you, because in the moment, you may never see that same thing again.
We the team of Bangladesh Agricultural University Journalists' Association (BAUJA) visited Darjeeling with a view to see the beautiful scenario of the nature, how Almighty Allah decorated the hills, low and high lands with various kinds of trees, wild animals, mountain falls and various cultural people.
We visited some charming tourist spot of Darjeeling including Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop, Happy Valley Tea State, Rock Garden, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park etc.
As an animal lover and also student of Animal Husbandry, I enjoyed Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park most. It is well known for its famous Red Panda and Snow Leopard breeding programme. The park is spread in an area of 67.56 acres of land. The zoo is located at an average elevation of 2,134 meters above sea level and is the largest high altitude zoos in India. Some of the rare and endangered species in the zoo are Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Himalayan Mountain Goat, Himalayan Salamander, Tibetan wolf, and Siberian Tiger etc.
The memory of our first international tour as well as the beautiful scenario of Darjeeling will always be remembered in the page of memory.
