Maradona to join Bangabandhu's birth centenary celebration

Football legend Diego Maradona is expected to attend the birth centenary programme of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman next year.

The government has chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate 'Mujib Barsho' from March 17, 2020 to March 26, 2021 marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has also undertaken various programmes on the occasion.

BFF general secretary Abu Nayeen Sohag on Tuesday confirmed media about the visit of the Argentine footballer to Bangladesh.

"It is final that Maradona is coming to Dhaka. The schedule will be finalised later," he said.
