Khaleda Zia is better now, CT scan will be done

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's physician Professor Dr FM Siddique has said the physical condition of former prime minister is well. Her condition is stable now.

After examining Khaleda Zia's health on Thursday afternoon, the physician said, "We've reported Madam's health condition over the last two days. After examining her today, we've found that her physical condition is better now. Her oxygen saturation is also satisfactory. Blood report is also good. However, she had fever on Wednesday night. Her body temperature was also 100 degree Farenheit this morning, which is slightly above the normal body temperature of a human being. But, she feels better now. Her condition is stable."

BNP said earlier that former prime minister Khaleda Zia had tested positive on Sunday last. She is now staying at her Gulshan residence. Several individuals at her residence have also contracted the coronavirus. A group of physicians led by Professor Dr FM Siddiqui have been taking care of Khaleda Zia from the beginning.

Professor Dr FM Siddiqui also said Madam is now in the second week of Covid-19, and major complications of the deadly disease appear in the second week. "We're also cautious about it. We'll now conduct her CT scan."

Asked where Khaleda Zia would be treated, Professor Dr FM Siddiqui said, "Nothing can be predicted what happens in Covid. So, we'll be able to say whether we will keep her at home or get admitted to a hospital for a few days. The decision will be taken later on, However, we've all kinds of preparation."

He said Khaleda Zia is mentally very well. "Madam herself told us that she didn't feel any complication that she was infected with coronavirus."

Asked where the CT scan would be done, Professor Dr FM Siddiqui said, "We've already determined where would we conduct her CT scan. We'll inform the media about it in an appropriate time. However, we would do her CT scan as early as possible."
