Pori Moni sent to prison

A Dhaka court ordered to send actress Pori Moni to prison after police produced her on Saturday.

She was produced before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Asheq Imam at 11:49am ending her third time remand in a case filed under Narcotics Control Act.

At that time, the case investigation officer CID's inspector Golam Mostafa filed a petition where he requested to keep Pori Moni at jail until the investigation is over.

After hearing, the Magistrate passed the order rejecting her bail plea filed earlier by Pori Moni's lawyer Mojibur Rahman.

On Thursday, Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam granted one-day remand again for the actress in the same case.

A court in Dhaka on August 13 rejected a bail to Pori Moni and sent her to jail in the same case filed with Banani Police Station.

Pori Moni and her associate Ashraful Islam Dipu were shown arrested in the drug case filed by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on August 5.

The elite force raided the house of Pori Moni at her residence in Banani on August 4. At that time, liquor bottles and other drugs were seized from the house.
