Pori Moni remanded for third time in drug case

A court in Dhaka has granted one-day remand again for actress Pori Moni in a case filed under Narcotics Control Act.

The actress was produced before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam from Kashimpur jail at about 8:25am on Wednesday.

The hearing began at 11:30am.

After the hearing, which was pending on Wednesday, the Magistrate passed the remand order.

Pori Moni was crying during the hearing.

On August 16, the case investigation officer CID police's inspector Kazi Golam Mostafa filed an appeal for five-day remand for Pori Moni.

A court in Dhaka on August 13 rejected a bail to actress Pori Moni and sent her to jail in the same case filed with Banani Police Station.

Pori Moni and her associate Ashraful Islam Dipu were shown arrested in the drug case filed by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on August 5.

The elite force raided the house of Pori Moni at her residence in Banani on August 4. At that time, liquor bottles and other drugs were seized from the house.
