Ctg BCL demands removal of Zia's name from museum

Chattogram's Kotwali Thana Chhatra League on Friday organized a human chain demanding the change the name of Zia Memorial Museum to 'Muktijoddha Museum'.
The human chain was held at Kazir Dewri in front of Circuit House in the port city.
Chattogram Metropolitan Chhatra League former president Mohammad Yunus, member Moshraful Haque Chowdhury Pavel, Chattogram Metropolitan Swechchhasebak League leader Monir Hossain spoke at the human chain.
Speakers demanded that the Zia Memorial Museum to be renamed as 'Muktijoddha Museum'. They said there could never be a museum commemorating the liberation war in the name of a controversial man. They warned of a tough movement if the name will not be changed quickly.
Chhatra League Central committee former deputy social service secretary Farhadul Islam Chowdhury Rintu, Jamalkhan Ward 21 unit Awami League general secretary Iqbal Ahmed Emu, Chattogram Metropolitan Swechchhaseba League leader Nazimuddin Saiful, Jamalkhan Ward 21 Chhatra League general secretary Shahin Alam, joint secretary Avi Roy also spoke at the human chain.
Awami League leader Zahidul Islam Monju, Juba League leaders Rafiqul Islam, Monir Hossain, Abul Hasan, Md Nasir, Haider, Kotwali Thana Juba League leader Faisal Islam Babu, Chattogram Metropolitan Swechchhasebak League leader Imran Khan, Jamal Khan were also present at the programme.
