AL wins in all five UPs of Barguna's Taltali

Awami League-backed candidates have unofficially been elected in all five union parishad elections at Taltali upazila in Barguna district.

The newly elected chairmen are Md Toufiq Uzzaman from Sotobogi UP, Ibrahim Ponu from Karaibari UP, Alamgir Hossain Alam from Borobogi UP, Md Bacchu Miah from Nishanbari UP and Abdul Razzak Hawladar from Pochakoralia UP.

The returning officers of the unions announced the results after counting votes of the respective centres.

Taltali Upazila election office Md Mostofa Kamal said voters cast their votes freely and peacefully in all five UPs in the last phase election. No untoward incident was reported.

Elections to 141 union parishads were held on Wednesday.
