The protesters threw brick bats to police members.

It is learned that several clashes have broke out between the factory workers and policemen from 8am to 11am. Dhaka-Tangail highway turned into a battlefield following the clashes. Vehicular movement on both sides remained halted.

Some 15-20 vehicles were vandalised. Some nearby shops were closed as panic gripped the people.

Police, workers and locals said that for the last four days, the workers of 10-12 industrial establishments in Mouchak area have been protesting for the last three days to increase their wages as per the government-announced scale.
