The extraordinary ministerial meeting preparatory of the 7th summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) was held yesterday ( Friday) at the Abdel latif Rahal Conference Center in Algiers.
The meeting focused on reviewing the final version of the "Algiers Declaration" and related decisions. The document will be submitted for approval by the heads of state and government today (Saturday) during the final phase of the summit presided over by Algerian President Abdel madjid Tebboune.
However, final day of the summit of heads of state and governments of this year`s GECF appears to be a landmark global event following a diverse lineup of as many as 10 heads-of-state gathering in Algiers.
Moreover, 9 energy ministers, ambassadors, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy of Malaysia, have been reported to participate in this significant gathering.
The summit will witness attendance of Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi , President of Bolivia, Luis Arce , President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Younes Menfi , Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Jameel Rashid.
Among other high-caliber participants there will be President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani , President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi , President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro , President of Senegal, Macky Sall, along with President of Tunisia, Kais Saied
Also in attendance will be the President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani; the President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi; the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro; and the President of Senegal, Macky Sall, along with the President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, participating in the summit.
As for Malaysia, it will be represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, while the other participating countries will be represented by their energy ministers, except for the United Arab Emirates and Peru, which will be represented by their respective ambassadors.
The summit is poised to tackle pressing issues surrounding the global gas industry, including market stability, sustainable development, and energy transition strategies.
With a diverse array of perspectives and expertise at the table, stakeholders are primed for fruitful discussions aimed at charting a course for the future of global energy.
