Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wang-chuck is likely to arrive Dhaka on March 25 to the countrys 54th Indepen-dence and National Day.
The 31-year-old King, who took office from his father King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk formally in 2008, arrived in Dhaka in 2023 for the first time and paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the freedom fighters of the country.
He will meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visit Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.
Bhutan is the first country that gave official recognition to Bangladesh as an independent country on December 3, 1971.
His father King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk met Bangabandhu in 1974 as Bangladesh invited him for state visit during that time. He had also two other visits in Dhaka in 1984 and 1985, the year Saarc held its first meeting in Dhaka.
