The government upheld its decision on cancellation of the postponed examinations of the subjects of HSC and equivalent examinations.
Planning and Education Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud has made the disclosure while responding to a question about the latest government’s decision on the HSC exams at the Secretariat on Wednesday, adding,"The decision on (HSC and equivalent) the examinations taken by Inter- Education Board Coordination Committee Chief and Dhaka Education Board chairman will remain effective."
"It was taken considering the demand of several thousand examinees. But there are 1.2 to 1.3 million candidates in the country. We were supposed to decide on the matter after a thorough discussion but we had to scrap the tests on Tuesday (August 20)," he added.
The decision of cancelling the HSC and equivalent exams was taken Tuesday considering the student protest demanding calling off the examinations.
