4 murder cases registered in Savar, Dhamrai

Four more murder cases have been registered at Savar's Ashulia and Dhamrai Police Stations in the capital on Wednesday relating to the deaths of five people during the student movement on August 5.

In Ashulia, Selina Begum, wife of the deceased Lebu, 40, lodged a murder case with Ashulia Police Station against 15 named individuals. The victim Lebu, a meat seller from Dharmrai Uttarpara in Sirajganj, was residing with his wife in a rented house in Dewan Tek area of the union. According to the case details, Lebu was attacked and later found severely injured near Bismillah Hotel at Baipail Mor. He was taken to Gonoshasthaya Samajvittik Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In Dhamrai, a murder case was filed by Azim Uddin, the grandfather of Afikur Islam, 18, who was killed in the same movement. The case named 82 individuals, including several local AL leaders. Afikur, originally from Manikganj's Saturia, was a student at Savar Cantonment College and lived with his family in Dharmrai.

Additionally, two more murder cases were filed at Ashulia Police Station related to the killing of three police personnel. These cases were filed by the wives of the deceased cops, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sohel Rana and constable Rafiqul Islam. In these cases, a large number of unknown individuals have been accused. The cases describe a violent attack on the policemen who were sheltering in a rented house, resulting in the brutal deaths of them. 

In total, 300-400 unnamed individuals were accused in the case involving the killing of Lebu, while 100-150 people were accused in the police officer-related cases.
