Litton, Miraz set historic record with gritty stand

Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz made history by becoming the first pair in Test cricket's 147-year history to forge a partnership of over 150 runs for the seventh or lower wicket after a team had lost six wickets for fewer than 50 runs.

Their remarkable 165-run stand for the seventh wicket came after Bangladesh was reeling at 26 for 6 on Day 3 of the series-deciding second Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.

Earlier, Bangladesh was dismantled by the exceptional swing bowling of Khurram Shahzad and Mir Hamza, who left them teetering on the edge of a follow-on. The pair had torn through the top and middle order within just 11 overs, reducing Bangladesh to a precarious position.

However, Litton and Miraz displayed remarkable resilience, expertly countering the swing before building on their innings to reduce the deficit. The partnership was eventually broken when Shahzad dismissed Miraz for 78, securing his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Litton was the ninth wicket to fall after scoring 138, and Bangladesh's innings ended just two balls later.
