CHATTOGRAM Sept 2: The Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) got a new chairman within four months of the appointment of the past chairman during the Awami League regime.

Engineer Md Nurul Karim has been appointed as the Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) for three years.
Earlier on April 24 Muhammad Yunus, an Awami League leader, was appointed as CDA Chairman.

The present government cancelled the appointment of the Mohammad Yunus, according to a gazette notification issued on Monday.

According to the same notification, Md. Nurul Karim has been made CDA Chairman. The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Kaniz Fatima of the Ministry of Public Administration's Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch.

Although the appointment of Yunus was for three years, he was removed from his position after just four months and seven days.

Engineer Md. Nurul Karim, the newly appointed Chairman, hails from the Shailakupa village in Narayanhat Union, Fatikchhari Upazila of Chattogram.

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5, there were demands for Yunus's resignation. CDA officers, employees, and affiliates protested outside the CDA building, calling for his removal.
