In the historic series win against Pakistan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz delivered a stellar performance, taking 5 wickets with the ball and scoring 78 runs with the bat.
His crucial 165-run partnership with Liton Das saved Bangladesh from a major collapse. Throughout the series, Miraz scored a total of 155 runs and took 10 wickets, earning him the Man of the Series award.
After Bangladesh completed a whitewash against Pakistan, Miraz spoke to the presenter about his performance, experience of winning, and contributions of his teammates. Towards the end of the interview, he switched to Bengali and made a heartfelt announcement.
Miraz declared that he would donate his Man of the Series prize money to the family of the rickshaw puller who was injured during the student protest in July-August and later died.
He said, "The country has been through a very difficult time. During the student movement, a rickshaw puller was injured and later passed away. I want to stand by his family by donating my Man of the Series prize money."
