Bangladesh Women's A team faced their first defeat of Sri Lanka tour, losing by 19 runs in the fourth T20 match of the five-game series at Thurstan College in Colombo on Tuesday.
Despite securing the series with three consecutive victories, Bangladesh struggled in this match, getting bowled out for 105 in 19.3 overs while chasing Sri Lanka's 125-run target.
Openers Shamima Sultana and all-rounder Shorna Akter scored 38 and 28 respectively, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered, unable to maintain the momentum.
Sri Lankan bowlers Chethana Vimukthi, Nimesha Madushani, Tharuka Shehani, and Dewmi Vihanga each claimed two wickets, stifling Bangladesh's chase.
Earlier, Sri Lanka overcame early setbacks to post 124-5, thanks to a crucial 47-run partnership between captain Sathya Sandeepani (46*) and Piumi Wathsala (29). Marufa Akter and Fahima Khatun took two wickets each for Bangladesh.
The fifth and final match of the series, now a dead rubber, will take place at Colts Ground, Colombo, on Thursday.
Bangladesh had earlier won the series opener by seven wickets, followed by victories of 104 runs and 10 runs. They also won the one-day series 1-0 after the first game was rained out.
