Saddam, Joy, Lekhok, among 66 sued in attempt to murder case

An attempt to murder case has been filed against Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Saddam Hossain, former president of BCL Al Nahian Khan Joy and 64 individuals on charge of attacking the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders in 2022.
 
JCD joint general secretary Ariful Islam filed a complaint with Metropolitan Magistrate Akhteruzzaman’s court on Thursday. After recording the statement of the complainant, the court asked Shahbagh Police Station to lodge the complaint as the First Information Report (FIR). 
 
The other accused in the case include --  Dhaka University's former proctor Golam Rabbani, former president of BCL Al Nahian Khan Joy, its former general secretary Lekhok Bhattacharjee, BCL former leaders- Sanjid Chandra Das, Riazul Islam, Monem Shahriar Hasan Moon, Samiuzzaman Sami, Asif Hossain, Rehanul Lovely, Sabbir Hossain, Ariful Islam Arif, Ohidul Islam Akash, Badhan Mia, Azizul Huq, Obaidul Hossain and Solaiman Habib. . 
 
According to the complainant, on September 27 in 2022, BCL men attacked the then newly formed Sohel-Arif JCD committee members in front of Sir F Rahman Hall of the Dhaka University (DU) while they were going to meet the then DU VC, leaving several JCD leaders, including the complainant Ariful Islam, injured.
