The Daily Observer's Court Correspondent, Ahsan Habib Deepak, 53, also a senior lawyer of the Judges Court and Metropolitan Court of Dhaka, is no more.
He breathed his last at around 2:00pm on Saturday while being taken to hospital in Dhaka from his native home in Noakhali's Maijdee.
His family members said Deepak went to his village home in Maijdee on Thursday with asthmatic problem and fever. On the very morning on Saturday, he was feeling severe chest pain and was taken to a local hospital.
Considering the severity of his problem, local doctors referred him to Dhaka for advance treatment. He breathed his last in an ambulance on way to Dhaka.
His elder brother said when they took him to a roadside hospital near Munsiganj, the doctors declared him dead. He died of a severe heart attack, according to the doctors.
Later, his dead body was buried in the family graveyard at Maijdee after the Esha prayer.
His elder brother said his father, a valiant freedom fighter Advocate Lutfar Rahman, was a renowned lawyer of Noakhali. He was third of seven brothers and sisters.
Deepak was also an enrolled lawyer of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
The Daily Observer family expressed deep shock at the death of Ahsan Habib Deepak and extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wished for forgiveness of the departed soul.
