The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled a 15-member squad for the upcoming Emerging Asia Cup, set to take place in Oman from October 18 to 27.
The squad features a mix of rising stars and experienced players, with Parvez Hossain Emon and Towhid Hridoy, both fresh from their recent T20 series against India, included in the lineup.
Akbar Ali, who captained Bangladesh to a historic U-19 World Cup victory in 2020, will lead the team, while Saif Hassan has been named as the vice-captain. Notable inclusions are former national team regulars Naim Sheikh and Shamim Hossain Patwary, adding depth to the squad.
The reserves list includes Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, Jaker Ali Anik, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Nasum Ahmed, all of whom provide additional support for the tournament.
The sixth edition of the Emerging Asia Cup will be contested in the T20 format, offering a platform for young cricketers to showcase their talent on an international stage. With a promising lineup, Bangladesh aims to make a strong impression in the tournament.
