Sediqullah Atal scored 95 unbeaten as Afghanistan 'A' beat Bangladesh 'A' by four wickets in Oman's ongoing Emerging Asia Cup.
Earlier, a solid batting performance by Tawhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain Patwary helped Bangladesh team post a competitive total of 164 for 4.
After losing the toss, Bangladesh 'A' was sent in to bat and suffered an early setback when opener Jishan Alam was bowled by Bilal Sami for just 4 runs. However, a steady 56-run partnership between Parvez Hossain Emon and Saif Hassan for the second wicket provided a solid foundation for a big score.
Emon led the charge, scoring a brisk 54 off 32 balls, before being caught at long-off by Sharafuddin Ashraf off Kais Ahmed’s bowling. Shortly after, Saif followed, departing for 16 off 19 deliveries.
Captain Akbar Ali was dismissed for just 4 runs, trapped LBW, but Hridoy and Shamim then put together an unbeaten 70-run stand for the fifth wicket.
Their partnership pushed Bangladesh 'A' past the 150-mark, with Shamim scoring 38 off 24 balls and Hridoy contributing 42 off 31, both remaining not out till the end.
To chase 164, Afghan opener Sediqullah Atal scored 95 off 55 which helped the team to overcome the target easily.
