Tabith Awal makes first visit to BFF office as President

Newly elected Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President, Tabith Awal, visited the BFF headquarters in Motijheel on Wednesday afternoon, marking his first official visit since assuming office eleven days ago.

Awal's visit comes on the heels of a landmark achievement for Bangladeshi football, as the women's national team clinched the SAFF Championship title for the second consecutive time, just three days after the BFF election in 2024.

Upon his arrival, Awal, joined by members of the new executive committee, met with BFF officials and staff and paid a courtesy visit to the SAFF Women's Championship-winning team. Though no in-depth discussions took place, Awal conveyed his pride in the teams accomplishment and acknowledged the significant impact of their success.

In a press conference following his visit, Awal shared his enthusiasm for beginning his term with a championship victory, expressing that the women's team has brought "immense pride to the country." He added, "Our journey begins on a high note, thanks to our champions. The womens football team truly deserves recognition, and we are planning to announce incentives for them following our first executive committee meeting on Saturday."

Awal confirmed that further details on the federation's plans would be revealed after the upcoming meeting on November 9, where the new executive committee will begin shaping its vision for Bangladeshi football.
