Bangladesh pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam delivered early breakthroughs on Day 4 of the first Test against West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, leaving the hosts struggling at 39-3 after 12 overs.
Taskin showcased his sharp bowling by removing opener Mikyle Louis for 8 and Keacy Carty for just 3, unsettling the West Indies top order. Shoriful complemented his effort by dismissing skipper Kraigg Brathwaite, who managed 23 runs before falling to a probing delivery.
At lunch, the West Indies stood at 71-3 after 27.4 overs, with their innings facing early challenges from Bangladesh's pace attack.
Bangladesh earlier declared their first innings at 269-9, trailing by 181 runs in response to the West Indies' formidable 450-9 (declared).
The morning session has kept the visitors' hopes alive with a promising start to their bowling effort.
