Bangladesh Women's cricket team has set the stage for a potential series sweep against Ireland, bowling out the visitors for 185 runs in the third and final ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Having already secured the series with victories in the first two matches, the Tigresses are aiming for a clean sweep to strengthen their chances of direct qualification for the ICC Women's World Cup.
After electing to bat, Ireland's innings was anchored by captain Gaby Lewis, who scored a steady 52. Contributions from Orla Prendergast (27) and Amy Hunter (23) helped their side reach a competitive total, but regular breakthroughs by the Bangladeshi bowlers kept the Irish batters in check.
Fahima Khatun led Bangladeshs bowling attack with figures of 3-43, while Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter each claimed two wickets. The disciplined bowling performance ensured that Ireland could not build significant partnerships.
With a target of 186, Bangladesh will look to their in-form batters to finish the series on a high note and secure vital points for World Cup qualification.
