Bong Thrift Carnival ends today

The Bong Thrift Carnival is an initiative of HerNet Foundation curated  by its trailblazing founder, Alisha Pradhan at Le Méridien Hotel in the capital ends today. 

 The event that began on Friday  is a platform to promote sustainability, cultural exchange, and community empowerment through an innovative array of activities. The Bong Thrift Carnival has been thoughtfully curated to engage visitors of all ages, offering a blend of activities and attractions that reflect its core theme "Community that Recycles Together, Sustains Together." 

The carnival hosted over 40 stalls offering a diverse selection of pre-loved, recycled, and locally produced products. These range from clothing and designer items to accessories, children's goods, and more, all curated to emphasize sustainable consumerism participated by female professionals, expats, organizations and brands as well. For the first time in Bangladesh, the event will feature an Art Camp led by more than 40 renowned international Bangladeshi and foreign artists. This includes legendary and veteran artists such as Afrozaa Jamil Konka, Samar Majumder, Abdul Mannan, Farida Zaman, Biren Shome, Tarun Ghosh, Kuhu Plamondon, Jamal Ahmad, Rokeya Sultana, Rezaun Nabi, Mustapha K Palash, Fareha Zeba, Samina Nafis, Rubina Akhter, Uttam Kumar Karmaker, Dilruba Latif, Sohana Sahreen, Fahmida Khatun, Sunil Kumar, Shakila Chayan, Julia Lebrao Sendra, and, among others, alongside emerging talents. The camp fosters a collaborative environment where experienced artists share inspiration and ideologies with rising stars, creating an atmosphere of creativity and learning. Internationally acclaimed artist Afrozaa Jamil Konka is the advisor to this art camp.
