Fire breaks out in Karail slum, 7 units battling the blaze

The fire, which originated around 4:15 PM, is being fought by seven units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed Rakibul Islam, duty officer of Fire Service control room.  
"Initially, five units were dispatched to the scene. However, due to severe traffic congestion, two more units were sent to join the firefighting effort. The narrow pathways within the slum have made it challenging for water tankers to access the area," Rakibul Islam explained.  

The cause of the fire remains unknown and no casualties have been reported yet so far, added the Fire Service official.
