Hamza cleared to represent Bangladesh in International Football

The 26-year-old becomes the first English Premier League player to wear the red and green jersey, a milestone that has been widely celebrated. 

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday, expressing enthusiasm for Hamza's addition to the national team.  

FIFA's Players' Status Committee approved the request after the Football Association of England issued a no-objection certificate earlier this year. BFF General Secretary Imran Hossain called the development a "proud moment" for Bangladesh football. "Hamza Choudhury's inclusion will inspire a new generation and pave the way for future international achievements," he said.  

Born in England to a Bangladeshi mother, Hamza began the process of acquiring Bangladeshi citizenship in June and received his passport in August. His decision to play for Bangladesh is expected to bring significant attention to the team and inspire young players across the country.
