Two new passenger train services will be launched from Dhaka to Khulna and Benapole via Kashiani Junction through Padma Bridge on Tuesday (December 24).
Two passenger trains—Jahanabad Express and Ruposhi Bangla Express—will officially launch operations on the Dhaka-Jashore-Khulna-Benapole section via the Padma Bridge.
According to railway officials, Jahanabad Express will depart Khulna at 6AM will arrive in Dhaka at 9:45AM. The return journey will begin from Dhaka at 8PM, reaching Khulna at 11:40PM. The train will stop at Nowapara, Singia, Lohagara, Kashiani, and Bhanga junctions.
Besides, Ruposhi Bangla Express will leave Dhaka at 10:45AM and will reach Jashore's Benapole at 2:30PM. The return journey will begin from Jashore at 3:30PM and will reach Dhaka at 7:10PM. The train will stop at Jashore, Narail, Kashiani, and Bhanga junctions.
Both trains, featuring 12 coaches with a capacity to accommodate 768 passengers, will operate week-round, excluding Mondays.
The newly constructed railway route has reduced the travel distance between the two districts by 212 kilometres and cut the travel time around four hours.
